Suraj Kund was Constructed in the 15th century. It considered that Suraj Kund to be the same place where the Sage Gwalipa healed Suraj Sen, leprosy with the waters of this pool.
The myth behind this legendary pond is that when Suraj Sen had tasted the water of the pond he chronic illness was cured. Due to cured his disease of the water of pond , he built a tank and the mighty fort and named the city after the sage. Now local people still believe that the water in the tank has medicinal power. Suraj Kund has historical significance and it attract many devotees as well tourists every year.
