Manali Attraction - Roerich Art Gallery
A Russian name Nicholas Roerichestablished Nicholas Roerich Art Gallery. It is a popular attraction of Manali and located at a distance of 2 km from Manali in Naggar. Mr. Nicholas Roerich was a painter, who dreamt of unifying the world through art. In the museum is housed a private collection of paintings of the Russian painter Nicholas Roerich. Roerich Art Gallery is not a art Gallery but it has a wonderful gardens and the surrounding area gives a picture perfect look of Himalayas. Nicholas Roerich express his views about Himalayas in his paintaing.It is a perfect place of artists and all those people who are interested to see the beauty of Himalayas by heart.
About Art Gallery
After the revolution of 1917, Nicholas Roerich arrived in the Himalayas. His son Svyetoslav Roerich, was converted his residence into a gallery. Where Nicholas Roerich was lived is now turned into the Nicholas Roerich Art Gallery. The ground floor of the Art Gallery building has exotic paintings made by the great artists of Lahaul, Kullu and Spiti. In this Gallery there is a small room where the marvelous piece of work of the painter is on display.
Special Things
Himachal Pradesh Government and Russian Government is supported this Arts Gallery. Government of Himachal Pradesh is managed this gallery by a trust. In this Gallery there are also a some photos of Nicholas Roerich on display here, such as in one paintaing he is posing in his front Lawn with Jawahar Lal Nehru - in Chinese silk robes, Cossack boots and burly beard.

Roerich Art Gallery open from 10 A.M. to 5 P.M., except Mondays
How to reach
Roerich Art Gallery is located 2 km from the main town on MDR 29. Tourists / Visitors can hire a local taxi/cab to reach the gallery. HPSTC buses and Private buses are also easily available.
