    In the Spiti valley, Tabo monastery was located.It is a main attractions of Spiti Valley. Tabo Monastery is known for being an ancient heritage of the Buddhists. Tabo is often called 'The Ajanta of the Himalayas'.

    Histrory about  Tabo monastery 
    Rinchen Zangpo was founded the Tabo monastery in 996 AD. This monastery was established with the mission to serve as an institution for advanced learning. It is also known as 'Tabo Chos Khor', which means 'Doctrinal Circle' or 'Doctrinal Enclave' of Tabo, and houses Deva Gyatsho. In this Monastery there is 9 temples, 23 chortens.

    Main Attraction of monastery 
    Main Attraction of Tabo monastery is the collection of manuscripts, numerous stupas, Buddhist paintings, sculptures, historical, exquisite statues and murals depicting the scenes of Mahayana Buddhist Pantheon.

    In the temples of Tabu monastery, Lamas and monks perform pujas. It is a monastery is the oldest functioning Buddhist monastery in the Himalayas and in India
