Munnar Attractions : Anamudi Peak Munnar

Munnar is the most privileged summer resort positioned at a height of 6000ft in the Idukki district. Anamudi Peak is well-known tourist attraction of Munnar. Anamudi Peak is the highest peak in the Western Ghats and South India. It is located within the Eravikulam National Park.

About Anamudi Peak 

Anamudi name is literally translates to "elephant's forehead. Anamudi peak is resemblance of the mountain to an elephant's head. This peak offers the splendid scenic surroundings and valleys famous for grasslands. It also offers transcendent venues for camping and trekking and is a gladness for nature enthusiasts. Those people's who are interested to treks to the peak then they should take permission from the Forest and Wildlife authorities at Eravikulam. 

This hill is spectacular in diversified kinds of flora and fauna and is very well known for possessing endangered animals. This hill also a home of many animals such as Nilgiri languors, leopards,  Asian Elephants, Gaur, Bengal tigers and macaques. The peak, covered with evergreen forests and inhabited by local flora and fauna and a vibrant avian life, is a paradise in the wild.
