Jai Vilas Mahal is European style palace and unique architecture, which is a mix of Italian, Tuscan and Corinthian. About 35 of the rooms have been converted into the Scindia Museum. Main durbar hall of Jai Vilas Mahal is impressive.
Lt. Col. Sir Michael Filose was designed this palace and in year 1809, Maharaja Jivaji Rao Scindia was constructed this palace. The beautiful palace houses furniture from Versailles, Italy and France.
In Museum you see the historic swords and exhibits a collection of antiques belong to the Scindia reign. Here you see the silver dinner services and rare collections like a glass cradle from Italy.
Timing to visit the Mahal : You can visit the Mahal between 10 am - 5 pm (Tuesday - Sunday)
The Jai Vilas Palace is an opulent Italianate structure, set in carefully laid lawns.
