About Fort
In the 15th century, Gwalior fort was built by Raja Mansingh Tomar on a hilltop that overlooks the city. The fort has 3 temples, 6 palaces and number of water tank. Fort houses has a number of traditional buildings including Man Mandir, Teli-ka-Mandir Temple, Gujari Mahal cum museum and many others. It is said that the Gwalior fort is the most significant fort of its kind.
The fort was constructed in two parts ( the main fort and the Gurjari Mahal and the Man Mandir palace) the first part constitutes the main fort that was built during the early rule of the Tomaras.
What to Visit
In fort you see the Man Singh Palace, Gujari Mahal, Scindia School, Teli-ka-Mandir and Saas-Bahu Temples, Karan Palace, the Jahangir Mahal, and the Shahjahan Mahal.
