About Memorial of Tansen
Memorial of Tansen is surrounded by gardens and it is a perfect example of typical Mughal architectural style. This is the memorial built to commemorate Tansen. Tansen was the great musician and one of the nine gems of Akbar’s court. He was the follower of the Sufi saint. He chose the Muhammad Ghaus as his music teacher and learnt Hindustani classical music and several ragas from him.
This Tom is also serves as a part of the living cultural heritage of Gwalior.
Main Event : In the months of November and December, a national level music festival is organised every year at the tomb. Many musicians and singers perform at the site during music festival.
