About Temple
This Jain temple is elaborately inwrought by glasses that reflect 21 images of Lord Mahavir, which correspond to the 21 Jain Tirthankaras. Kanch Mandir is a hallowed place among people of Jain spiritual community, as the idol of Lord Mahavira, who was the founder of Jainism, is the presiding deity in the temple. It is also known as the Seth Hukamchand Temple. Sir Hukamchand Seth was built this temple. He was also famous as 'Cotton King'. The walls of the temple, pillars, floor, ceiling, doors, everything here is entirely adorned with glass.
There are paintings done in tinted glass which depict stories from Jain scriptures. Sheesh Mahal, Rang Mahal (to the left of this structure) and Kanch Mahal are all magnificient Marble buildings that belong to Sir Seth Hukumchand and family.
