    About Bharat Mandir
    During the 12th century, Adiguru Shankaracharya, the great theologian was founded Bharat Mandir. Bharat Mandir is ancient temple and situated at the bank of River Ganga, is one of the oldest temples of Rishikesh. Present temple is the renovated but according to record in 1398 AD by Tamur Lane was destroyed this temple. The main deity installed here is of Lord Vishnu. The Idol of God Narayana (Vishnu), is of black stone, carved out from a single piece of Saligram. At the inner canopy of the temple a spectacular sacred Shree Yanthra is also placed.

    Recent excavations brought out many ancient pots , old statues and coins and other artifacts of historical importance from this site. A very popular and colourful spring festival called 'Basant Panchami' is celebrated here. On the day of Basant Panchami, the idol of Lord Hrishikesh is taken out, in a holy procession, for a dip in the sacred water of river Ganga. Many people participating in this procession.

    The holy records of Bharat temple can be found in the ancient records of Kearkhand, a religious text of Hindus. Bharat Mandir is located just half a kilometre away from Triveni Ghat.

    Timing : Temple is open in morning 5 AM to 11 AM and 1 PM to 5 PM
