Tattapani is located about 50 Kms form Shimla on the banks of the river Sutlej. The place is at an elevation of 655 meters above sea level.
About Tattapani
Today Tattapani is spot of big tourist attraction. The springs are found on the banks of river Sutlej covering an area of one square kilometer.It is an ideal place to enjoy the river as well as the sulphur springs sprouting out on its banks.
Throught out the year many toursit came here and take a dip into the sulphurous water of the spring. It believed that take a dip into this spring, it provides relief to the people suffering from joint pains, fatigue or any type of skin disease. It also has a great medicinal quality. The combination of hot and cold water is a natural extravaganza to see at this place.
It is also developed as a Hindu pilgrimage center. In the month of January, is the best time to take a bath in the Tattapani spring. due to the purpose of pilgrims. On the occasion of agricultural festival or Baisakhi Festival people came here and take a holy dip or Makar Sakranti, Festivals are also held during these days
Tattapani is a natural sulphur spring is pure and has curative powers of various kinds. The temperature of the Tattapani water spring keeps fluctuating depending on the water level of the river.
