Buddha Temple or Mindrolling Monastery is major tourist attraction. In year 1965, Buddha Temple structure. Tibetan community of Dehradun constructed the Buddha Temple. It is replica of original monastery in Tibet. It was built as one of the four Tibetan religion schools and was named "Nyingma". Other three religious school names are : Kagyu, Sakya and Geluk. These schools has great seriousness in the Tibetan religion.
The matchless wall paintings in pure gold colour, meticulously depicting in events in the life of Lord Buddha is attracting tourists. It is believed that the temple had been designed and painted by around 50 artists. These artists took 3 years to indite such astonishing structure of golden paint.
Buddha Temple complex has a good collection of books in the Tibetan language because Tibetan people living in the area purchase books from this shop.
Main Attraction :
Main attraction of Buddha Temple is great statue of Buddha.The hight of this statue is nearly 103 feet and it was constructed about 10 years ago. Buddha Temple also has a garden. The shops and temple garden are open for the general public seven days a week.
