Neeleshwar Temple is old and small temple in Haridwar and it is dedicated to Hindu God Shiva. This temple is located atop a hill and near the Kushavarta Ghat. Here a source stream of Ganga flows down near the temple so that it is known as Neeldhara and temple is known as Neeleshwar Temple. After taking the bath in Neeldhara stream people visit the Neeleshwar Temple .
Neel was the ardent devotee of Shiva and established the Shivling here. Daily he worshipped the Shivling with full faith. So the name of this temple is derived from the devotee Neel and temple name is Neeleshwar Mahadev Temple.
