About Observatory
Observatory is situated on Manora Peak. In year 1955 Astronomical Observatory was established and in year 1961 this observatory was shifted to its present location. This observatory has one of the most advance telescopes in India.
It is a center for astronomical studies and artificial satellites can be tracked here. the observatory was established with a view of conducting astrophysical research and developing facilities to continue the same. Some of the instruments are visited to tourist during working days at afternoons. With antecedent permission, visitors can get penetration to the observatory and also experience the happiness of viewing celestial objects through the telescope.
