    Mount Abu Tourist Attraction : Government Museum Mount Abu

    Government Museum of Mount Abu is also another famous tourist attraction.The museum's exhibits helps to tourists to have a deep insight into the history, culture and tradition of the place.

    Location : Government Museum is located Raj Bhawan, Mount Abu in the Sirohi District, Rajasthan.

    About Museum 
    Government Museum is also known as Mount Abu Archaeological Museumand in year 1962 this Museum was built within the Raj Bhawan's enclosure.It preserve the archaeological wealth of the surrounding region. It has a rich collection of arts and artifacts of Rajasthan. Here you see the 8th-12th century A.D, unique brass artifacts and Jain bronze carvings.

    In the first section of this Museum you see usual living style of local tribal things such as weapons, musical instruments, ladies ornaments like 'barly', 'damani', 'karna', 'gaga wala thoomar', 'guthma toda',  'kanksi berla' and various types of earrings and garments etc. belonging to hill dwellers. 

    Second section of this museum you see the a series of miniature paintings based on raga-raginis,  medium sized shields, lain images from Sirohi, a small canon called 'Topdi' and some pieces of carvings on local wood. 

    The dedication to art is yet again evident with the sculptures and delicately carved statues of Nartakis/Devdasi i.e dancer. Procured from the ancient town of Chandravati, these statues were erected between 6th and 12th century. There is an image of the Chakrabahu Shiva having a 'trishul' (trident) in one hand and a 'khadag' in the other and sitting on Nandi.

    Timings : The doorway of the Government Museum is open from 7.30 Am to 4.30 PM during summers.

    Main Attraction : Main attraction of this museum is Sculptures, Tribal Work, Paintings.
